Eddie had a successful surgery this morning to reset the bone and insert 3 pins. Everything went well and we should be going home sometime today. The name of the game now is pain management.
Thank you for praying for Eddie. He’s been a trooper and can’t wait to get home to be with his siblings.
I’ve been needing to write a family update but didn’t think I’d be doing it this way. It has been clear that God continues to teach us to trust Him more and more. We are reminded that He is in complete control and we can trust His plan for our lives, even when we can’t make sense of it.
I know this site has been to give updates on Brennen’s progress of fighting leukemia but I know it’s a good way to share of a urgent prayer need.
Last night, Christmas evening, our 2nd oldest som Eddie, fell while playing outside. He landed on his arm and was immediately in a lot of pain. For a little guy, he’s always been pretty tough and the pain just wouldn’t go away. We ended up taking him to the emergency room to get an X-ray.
It was discovered that his upper right arm (humorous) was completely broken and it requires surgery to repair. The doctor and nurses couldn’t believe how calm he was for such a break.
I write this to ask you to pray for him this morning. He goes in for surgery at 8:00a Central time. He has been so brave but, understandibly, is scared. He keeps talking about how Brennen is so strong and he wants to be like him. The surgery is pretty straightforward but we know there are always risks with any surgery. Dr. Lyon, an orthopedist will be performing the surgery.
Thank you for faithfully praying for Brennen and now Eddie. I will post an update as soon as I know how the surgery went.
