Law Family Update – December 2022

As we started to write down some updates on the family we quickly realized that something more than the back of a Christmas card would be needed. Since many of you are spread around the country and we aren’t able to keep up as much as we would like wanted to share a bit of what has been going on in our family.
2022 came and went so quickly. I guess that is to be expected with a family of 9. Homeschool, church life, spending time with friends, and all the normal life things keep the house buzzing with activity.
A couple highlights to our year were a family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells in the Spring and Family Camp in the summer. I am grateful that we love to spend time together. While friends are a big part of our life we all enjoy the times we are able to make memories together as a family.
In my free time I’ve been able to do some furniture building and renovation work for friends in the area. It has become a fun hobby but also something that I am able to do with the boys. They each have abilities that come in handy during the various projects we are working on and I love seeing them gain skills that maybe they can use in the future.
After two years of COVID restrictions, we are thankful that we are able to get back into the nursing home serve the residents. I teach a Bible study each month and last week we were able to do our “Sermon in Song” for them. It is a joy to watch the kids have a heart for those who are older and unable to do much for themselves. I love seeing the faces of the residents as the kids sing and share Scripture.
This Fall was our second year being part of a homeschool cross country team. I never thought it would be something we would do but it has quickly become something our family loves. While I’m only able to keep pace with AynsLeigh, it is fun to watch them put hard work into training and see their work pay off in the races. After a hard summer of training we saw the kids setting personal records in almost every race.
If you’re around our area this winter you will probably find the kids on our little ski hill in Lake Geneva. They are eager to get their school work done quickly so they can possibly hit the slopes.
As you can see, God has been gracious to us in 2022 and we praise Him for all He has done. Our prayer is that He continues to build in each of us a love for Him, His Word, and the people he has put us around. May He bless each one of you!

— Chris

Chris & Jenny – 23 Years

Can’t believe we get to do this life together! God has been gracious to lead and provide daily for us. Starting out I would have never imagined this but, even with the challenges of life, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Isabella – 18

Isabella continues her love for all things “creative.” Some of them include tending her flower garden, baking, designing jewelry, drawing, and playing piano at home and church. This Fall she began her senior year and looks forward to graduating.

Brennen – 14

He might be close to 6 foot tall and we are a size 13 shoe but he has not lost his tender heart or love to cuddle with his mom. ❤️ He enjoys playing baseball with his friends, running cross country, and skiing this winter. He and Eddie enjoy working for our neighbors by taking care of their horses.

Eddie – 12

From the moment he wakes up (long before the sunrise) he is always on the go, never lacking energy. He uses the same level of energy as he cares for his friends and when he’s pushing himself in cross country.

Elijah – 10

Don’t let the dirt all over his clothes deceive you. He is thoughtful and loves “creating” things for people, especially if it includes power tools. He is probably the funniest in the family but you have to be listening carefully to pick up on his timely comments or jokes.

Holden – 9

Mr. Personality. Holden makes everyone feel they are the center of the world. He is everyone’s best friend. He loves keeping people laughing though his antics. He’s always keeping up with his big brothers as they play sports in our driveway or field.

AynsLeigh – 6

On any given day you might just find her wearing pink, glitter, and camouflage. She loves all things “girl” but also loves time outside in the fields with her brothers. Often, she is right by her big sister creating and baking (licking the utensils).

Greyson – 18 months

He loves to dance and sing his way through the day keeping all his siblings entertained. He has eagle vision to spot a ball anywhere in a room and will quickly notify the occupants that he wants it now.
